I almost completed all the white on Snowed in, for the 6 Fat Men Flip-it series. White is my pet peeve colour, so thought I would get it done in this design first and then on to the colours! :)
A few more stitches have gone into Oct 2008 of Margaret Sherry 2009 Calendar. Slow but sure is the way I've been stitching these days. But still enjoying it very much. Love the little crown on this Domestic Diva.
Almost completed little Tatty Teddy Birth Sampler. I deviated from the blue blanket, but now have decided to frog these turquoise stitches once I receive the samples of colours being used in the new babies bedroom. Then I shall pick the colour/s to stitch the blanket. Of course, I still have to do all the tatty stitches. lol which really take a sharp needle to complete!
I'm sure a lot of you have seen this adorable pattern before - Emma's Garden. I have had it for years in my to-do stash. I's calling me, so I purchased the fabric from Stoney Creek, along with some of the threads I need and shall start soon. I just hope that I am able to bleach the fabric properly to get the colours correct. Seems a shame to bleach out the lovely blue grey colour, but it is what the pattern calls for. If there is someone or two out there who have done it and could give me any suggestions on bleaching the fabric properly, please let me know.
Well, that's about it for this past week. My hands have been fairly good for me this week, after the shots, so I have been stitching each day. Not as much as I usually do,but still enough to make me smile!! Hope you are all enjoying some good stitchy time! :)
lot's of stitches for you sweetie =)

ReplyDeleteThanks Kate. I am hoping to continue to add one of my stash items to the mix while stitching this year! Seems they get left behind if they are put away. Hope you have a good stitchy week! :)
DeleteGreat stitching Anne! Love your new stash/project!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Mii! I couldn't believe I had Emma's Garden in my stash soooo long. Now with the fabric coming, I shall be able to get it started! :)

ReplyDeleteYes, you Fat Men stitch is looking really good. Sorry to say I haven't touched it this week yet. Working on the Tatty. Happy Stitching sweetie! :)
DeleteGreat progress! Glad to hear your hands are behaving too x
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma! Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Yes, hoping the surgery will help the thumb even more and then a few fingers later on. Ouch, you say, well, it's a very simple 15 minute surgery and after three or four days, back to normal, which I will truly appreciate. Happy Stitching to you! :)
DeleteYou've been busy! Emma's Garden is going to be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYes, A d ! Happy to say stitching has been good for a little while. Looking forward to each day to stitch. Just waiting for fabric for Emma's Garden, then will start it! :)

ReplyDeleteNice update.
Emmas Garden is so pretty. Not heard of having to bleach the fabric,so do tell how you get on.
lol Yes, Julie, they are behaving fairly good. At least I can stitch each day for a while. Will let you know about the fabric in a post once I get the fabbie for Emma's Garden. Not looking forward to it, but friend will help me with the bleaching. Thanks, have a great day! :)
DeleteHi, just found your blog through the comment you left for me,so thank you!
ReplyDeleteI stitched Emma's Garden back in 1999. I used cream fabric and painted the bottom using blue/grey fabric paint. It was hard to get coloured fabrics back then.
Once you've sorted your fabric then the important thing is to start stitching on the line between the two colours to get your placement absolutely right.
Looking forward to seeing your progress on this one.
Thank you Jo for coming back to visit me. You have a lovely blog! Thank you so very much for the hints on Emma's Garden. I wish I had thought of the fabric paint idea, as that might have been less tricky than bleaching. Oh well, onward I go, once I receive the fabric. Great hint on where to start to stitch! I will post along the way! Happy Stitching! :)
Deletegorgeous stitching! I am new here :D
ReplyDeleteHi Irishenchantment! Very nice to have you come to visit me! Thank you for the lovely comment and wonderful blog you have. I love the Haed Butterfly. Very good stitching! Hope you are feeling better. :)
DeleteLove the Tatty Teddy. Adorable. Too bad the backstitching is so tedious.
ReplyDeleteHi! I agree ! I just started it tonight, doing the nose and around the face. Tomorrow I will start doing the other which I find not horrible if I use a sharp needle to do them. I finally got a leather thimble last fall, and that helps a lot pushing the needle through all the threads. Happy Stitching!! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW that's a lot of stuff in a week - good going :) Glad to read that the shots are helping :)
ReplyDelete(I'm slow with responding as this, and many other things I wanted to reply to got lost in the 80 tabs I had open in firefox, which then became a bit overwhelming :( )
Thanks MM! I go Tuesday for surgery on my right thumb, which, even though a surgery, only takes about 15 minutes, and about 1 day to feel lots better. I am always told with carpal tunnel surgery of any kind on the hand, by the doctor, to use it right away, not heavy use, but use it, don't sling it or such like they used to do, as it will heal much better with use.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about having all those tabs. I have been quite delinquent in checking out blogs and I hope to get to it soon!! Happy stitching!! :) And all the best in replying to all those blogs!!
