IHSW stitching +

This is a little stitch I did from a mag a couple of years ago.  I made a little bag, with ribbon handles for my friend Denise's granddaughters 2nd birthday.  Little girls just love to have a bag to carry things around.

I received the wonderful little 25cm buttons (sans shank) from Olay in Turkey.  I ordered a few and even another shape so have lots to use now.  It matches the copper tail very well, even better in person and now this cute little Gingerbread Mouse is ready for Christmas, when it gets here!!    Check out her Etsy shop sometime as she has some lovely items.

This is the little cutie I stitched this weekend for IHSW.  It is called Snow Daze by Plum Pudding NeedleArt.  You cannot see the sparkle much, but it is stitched on 32 ct (my first attempt ever) of Blue Whisper Cashel Linen.  I haven't used a hoop for tons of years, but this one I really needed it to be able to stretch the fabric slightly so I could see the holes.  lol  I will do the other two of this pattern, and then that's it for me on 32 count.  I find it so difficult.  Funny since 28 ct isn't that much different but I am able to do 28ct so much easier.

Meant to show you this little cutie by Lynn at her blog.  She has some really nice patterns and some freebies of which this is one. I added beading on the edges as she teaches, and also in the present and the hat.  I used Swarovski crystals at the ends of the tassels. She also has some great tutorials for finishing.   I completed this one in January this year.

Well, I have been reading over so many posts by people on  their blogs and so many wonderful pieces being stitched.  Congrats all!   I am slowly getting back into stitching and this is okay.  Time for Spring cleaning early then.   My hand is doing okay with the shots I had and the thumb is booked for release surgery on March 19th.  I am looking forward to this as it is an easy and quick thing and will help immensely, permanent compared to a shot.   Happy stitching everyone and just think only about 4 weeks until Spring!  :)

  1. The little mouse is adorable Anne!! Looks like you had a great IHSW! I find it just hard to stitch on opalescent lugana, and the linen a bit easier. I agree that using a hoop or qsnap is better for the opalescent fabbies however, when you are stitching a teeny tiny ornie, it has to be in hand! The higher count will get easier to work with the more you work with it :D

    1. Thanks Anne! If you saw me squinting, and maneuvering to get each stitch in the 32 count, I think you would laugh pretty hard. I really think I will stick to the 28ct thank you. lol :) I stitch everything in hand, exlarge to tiny usually. Happy Stitching!

    1. Thanks Annette! I just love the little Gingerbread mouse too, and especially in the copper. I am not a gold person really, as the tail and beads that came in the kit were ( I did the kit and gave it to Denise, who bought me the pattern). The little bottom button really makes it too. Glad you can see the glitter as it really makes the design. :) Happy Stitching!

    1. Thank you so much Valma! Yes, my hand is not great, but much better so that I am able to stitch for a little while each day. I sure was missing it. And I agree about the bags, I have three myself, but I know a few ladies who have over 10-15 bags! lol big hugs to you too, sweetie! :)

    1. I do love the little Gingerbread Mouse! I was lucky enough to find the little copper button (sans shank) by Olay on Etsy from Turkey. Thank you for your thoughts! I shall be quite relieved to have the stiffness and sometimes pain gone from my thumb. The plastic surgeon is excellent as he did my carpal tunnel surgeries as well. I hope you have a lovely weekend stitching. I hope to get a couple of things at least stitched not, although maybe not finished. Will post on Sunday! :)
