IHSW after!

Well, on Friday the weatherman said it was going to rain all weekend and be cool.  I had planned this IHSW to be a very productive one, but with the sunshine and the warm weather that came along, I was outside more than inside.  Gardening and walking.  :)   I did manage to get some more colour added to the HAED though.  The 6 Fat Men got a roof and chimney.   I stitched mostly on the CSRRM mystery SAL but ran out of DMC 3823 so stopped there.    I hope most of you had a stitchy weekend!  :)

IHSW - here's where I'm at Friday !

This is the candy cane of HAED Candy Rush.  I worked quite a bit on the DMC 3865 over the past couple of weeks.   Hoping to add more colour this weekend.

This is Snow House - Lizzie Kate - 6 Fat Men.  So much fun to stitch!

Well, third is the double border completed for my CSRRM Yahoo Group.   This is the one I will first stitch on as I am a couple of weeks behind.  It is a mystery SAL - lots of fun!

Happy Stitching everyone! And if not stitching, sure hope you enjoy the May Long Weekend!  :)

April IHSW

I completed Snowed In of 6 Fat Men on Friday and started Snow Friends Saturday.  I'm enjoying it very much!

Newton was so many colours and lots of backstitching, but very adorable on the banding that Valerie sent to me in an exchange.  Thanks Valerie!   I have ordered the hanger for this last week so shall back it with some felt, ready for Christmas when it comes!  lol   I am not wishing for time to fly by, just love the season so enjoy stitching Christmas all year!!

I hope many of you enjoyed your IHSW.  I did finish off stitching a couple of other items, but shall wait until they are received then post a pic.   Happy Stitching everyone and hope you have a wonderful week!  :)

I didn't have time last weekend to post, but since this coming weekend is IHSW  I will  for sure post pics of all my stitching over the weekend.  I haven't stitched since Sunday and did a little tonight on 6 Fat Men, on the Snowed In design.   So hope to see some of your stitching over there, or on your blogs after the weekend!!  All the best stitching to you!! :)

New April stitching!

I truly enjoyed stitching this first little Lizzie Kate design from Tiny Tidings XVII.  The best thing was no backstitching!  Thanks Lizzie Kate, it's so cute! I have stitched this and will finish the entire design package on this fabric from Dove Stitch.  I love the colour that I chose and Greta does fine work of colouring the fabric.

This is the second of the Tiny Tidings which I stitched this week.   Again no backstitching but a few beads for sure.  Made the tree pop!

This is a SAL with crossstitchroundrobinmad at Yahoo group.  Next week is, I believe, the final part .  I haven't decided what to do with it as yet.  It's about 4 inches square.  hmm, maybe a card, or on a tote  bag.  Will have to see.

I completed this about a week and half ago.  But I forgot to post a pic of it.  Margaret Sherry little design.

Summer is coming one day, and I stitched this one for a seasonal quilt for WOCS.  It is my own little design using font from PCStitch pro that I have.

This is a floss tag that I stitched for an exchange with EMS group.  She has received it, so I can show it now.  :)

As you can see I've been a little busy.  I am still working on Tatty Teddy Baby Sampler, HAED Candy Rush, Newton, Domestic Diva and a few other WIPs.   I won't overload you with pics, so Happy Stitching everyone, and see you next week.  Also wanted to say as I visited so many blogs the past week, everyone is stitching and crafting such nice things!!!  :)

After all these years!

Well, here's a pic of this adorable EMS-RR pillow from 2008 that I use every single day.   I love it.  Not sure if you can make out the names who stitched it, so they are Lesley-UK, Julie-UK, Susan-Canada, Nicola-Australia, Vikki-UK, Susie-UK, Ylva-UK and me-Canada.  This cute piece was all over the world.  They did such a wonderful work of it all!! I often wonder if they are all still stitching or have blogs, since I didn't have a blog back then and didn't know about them at that point.  lol   This pillow is why I love doing an RR!!   Happy stitching everyone!!   Maybe these people can see that it is still so loved!! :)

Spring!

This little cutie is what I worked on this past week, after I got my thumb op.  I just finished backstitching today.  I did change the font and the design of the lettering.  It was It's Easter, but I changed it to It's Spring,  as it is stitched for my SAL seasonal sampler with MSCSG on Yahoo.  This is from the Cross Stitcher 2004 Margaret Sherry calender.
I hope you all  have had a great stitchy weekend!  :)

A little Cutie!

Here is the Snow Daze stitch by Plum Pudding Needleart.  It is done on a 28 ct (which seemed like a 32 ct) Blue Whisper vintage cashel linen.  It really doesn't show the beautiful blue colour.   This is my March stitch for SAL monthly for 2013.    Happily stitching along!!  Hope you are too!  :)

Stitched a Little!

I stitched this past weekend (IHSW) on this Brushstrokes Butterfly for WOCS .   Just have to finish the bottom  of  the one part and then it's done.

This little cutie is for a seasonal sampler we're  doing over at our Yahoo group - Margaret Sherry Cross Stitch Group.  It is from the 2004 MS calendar and I've done this twice before, but I do love it.  Hope to finish it up this week or next.

Well, I got my thumb fixed today, and it only took 15 minutes from the time I went into the op room until I got up to leave.  So very good!  It is swollen of course, but sshould be stitching, and typing better soon!  :)

IHSW !!

Yes, it's IHSW again!   I hope some of you would like to join along.   IHSW is International Hermit Stitching Weekend.  You can sign up and then after the weekend is over post about your stitching for the weekend, and you are able to quickly check out others posts on their blogs as well.    For me, it is a weekend when I pull out all the stops and spend almost all my extra time on the weekend stitching on pieces to get ahead or to complete one or two of them.   I find that it is quite motivational and so much fun to 'meet' new stitchers each month as well.   Come on along if you'd like!  :)

Winter's Still Here!

Winter's still here, at least for another 10 days!!   I took this pic this past week when we had a snow storm move in.  I couldn't see across one block.

With the bad weather though, comes some good time stitching time, so I have almost completed Tatty Teddy Baby Sampler.  I am just working on the Tatty part right now, and will have to add name, date and time once my great nephew is born.   As you can see I changed the blanket in the pattern again.  This time I actually have used two of the colours from his bedroom.

Newton is coming along fairly well too, with a bit of stitching left, and then can begin the backstitching.

Hope you are all have a great stitchy weekend.    :)

Stitchin' Along!!

I almost completed all the white on Snowed in, for the 6 Fat Men Flip-it series.  White is my pet peeve colour, so thought I would get it done in this design first and then on to the colours! :)

A few more stitches have gone into Oct 2008 of Margaret Sherry 2009 Calendar. Slow but sure is the way I've been stitching these days.  But still enjoying it very much.  Love the little crown on this Domestic Diva.

Almost completed little Tatty Teddy Birth Sampler.  I deviated from the blue blanket, but now have decided to frog these turquoise stitches once I receive the samples of colours  being used in the new babies bedroom.  Then I shall pick the colour/s to stitch the blanket.    Of course, I still have to do all the tatty stitches. lol which really take a sharp needle to complete!

I'm sure a lot of you have seen this adorable pattern before - Emma's Garden.  I have had it for years in my to-do stash.  I's calling me, so I purchased the fabric from Stoney Creek, along with some of the threads I need and shall start soon.  I just hope that I am able to bleach the fabric properly to get the colours correct.  Seems a shame to bleach out the lovely blue grey colour, but it is what the pattern calls for.   If there is someone or two out there who have done it and could give me any suggestions on bleaching the fabric properly, please let me know.

Well, that's about it for this past week.  My hands have been fairly good for me this week, after the shots, so I have been stitching each day.  Not as much as I usually do,but still enough to make me smile!!   Hope you are all enjoying some good stitchy time!  :)

IHSW stitching +

This is a little stitch I did from a mag a couple of years ago.  I made a little bag, with ribbon handles for my friend Denise's granddaughters 2nd birthday.  Little girls just love to have a bag to carry things around.

I received the wonderful little 25cm buttons (sans shank) from Olay in Turkey.  I ordered a few and even another shape so have lots to use now.  It matches the copper tail very well, even better in person and now this cute little Gingerbread Mouse is ready for Christmas, when it gets here!!    Check out her Etsy shop sometime as she has some lovely items.

This is the little cutie I stitched this weekend for IHSW.  It is called Snow Daze by Plum Pudding NeedleArt.  You cannot see the sparkle much, but it is stitched on 32 ct (my first attempt ever) of Blue Whisper Cashel Linen.  I haven't used a hoop for tons of years, but this one I really needed it to be able to stretch the fabric slightly so I could see the holes.  lol  I will do the other two of this pattern, and then that's it for me on 32 count.  I find it so difficult.  Funny since 28 ct isn't that much different but I am able to do 28ct so much easier.

Meant to show you this little cutie by Lynn at her blog.  She has some really nice patterns and some freebies of which this is one. I added beading on the edges as she teaches, and also in the present and the hat.  I used Swarovski crystals at the ends of the tassels. She also has some great tutorials for finishing.   I completed this one in January this year.

Well, I have been reading over so many posts by people on  their blogs and so many wonderful pieces being stitched.  Congrats all!   I am slowly getting back into stitching and this is okay.  Time for Spring cleaning early then.   My hand is doing okay with the shots I had and the thumb is booked for release surgery on March 19th.  I am looking forward to this as it is an easy and quick thing and will help immensely, permanent compared to a shot.   Happy stitching everyone and just think only about 4 weeks until Spring!  :)

Just a note!

Hi everyone!  Just a short note to say I've been doing a slight bit of stitching.  Next week I am heading to the plastic surgeon at the hand clinic as my right thumb and baby finger are acting up again.  I've had carpal tunnel release surgery on both hands in the past but sometimes that old thumb just creeps up and bothers me again.  A cortisone shot really helps and I should be zooming along with stitching, well almost, by the 16th.   I have been keeping up until two days ago with posts of people's blogs I follow.  I did notice in those posts, many people with the head cold of 2013, and quite a few problems with their eyes too.   I hope you all get better soon, as your needles are waiting for you !!   I wish you all wonderful stitching days, and I will come back to my blog again by Feb. 16th.     :)
